Job hunting as a graduate in the UK has always been fairly difficult because while the job market is large so is the pool of talent. With applicant numbers in the hundreds and sometimes thousands for each graduate position some young professionals are looking further a field to pastures new. Some of the countries you may want to consider if you are a graduate struggling to find their feat in the UK jobs market are as follows:
UAE
The United Arab Emirates is where the money is. This tiny gulf nation is rich in oil and so is pierced by skyscrapers, great stacks of money that zoom out forever into outer space. Fields like science, medicine and research in general make up the majority of jobs going and British expats are more than welcome if they meet the skill requirements.
France
Across 22 miles of cold, grey water sits France out nearest neighbor and in some cases our biggest rival. Rivalry based on nationality, however has no place in the globalised world with talent being the only factor when it comes to gainful employment. The French jobs market is booming for international students with so many who study there choosing to stay on after graduation to seek employment in their chosen field.
Russia
Interestingly enough, Russia is making a name for itself as a startup hub and money still talks and skill talks louder. If you are looking to market your skills, look east.
USA
The USA has the highest number of international students in the world and while many of them do return home once they’ve completed their studies when it comes to sheer numbers, the USA has everyone beaten. It’s still the land of opportunity and freedom and it still draws the most migrant from across the globe. Skilled and educated migrants are always welcome in the multitude of cities and states where certain industries are booming. It’s a patchwork quilt of prospects and still the American dream remains a very global ambition.
